Dr. Ghislaine Douflé

Dr. Ghislaine Douflé completed her Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine residency in 2011 in Paris, France. She subsequently enrolled in the Cardiac Anesthesia Fellowship Program of the Toronto General Hospital. In 2013, she joined the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Medicine of the University of Toronto and is currently appointed as Education Lead of the Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the Toronto General Hospital. Dr Douflé is fully certified for transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography and is a supervisor for the EDEC (European Diploma of Echocardiography). Her main interest is in medical education and echocardiography with a special focus on extracorporeal life support (ECLS).

Dr. Alberto Goffi

Alberto Goffi, MD, is a Staff Physician at Toronto Western Hospital – University Health Network and Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Department of Medicine and Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine (IDCCM). After graduating from the University of Torino (Italy) and completing his internal medicine/emergency medicine training in the same city, he moved to Toronto in 2010 for a fellowship in adult critical care medicine. His clinical and academic interests include neurocritical care and point-of-care ultrasound in acute care medicine, with a focus on the clinical utility of ultrasound in critical care medicine and optimal teaching strategies for its competency achievement. Alberto loves travelling for teaching; he has already taught ultrasound and neurocritical care in five different continents. In 2015, he won the Young Lecturer Award at the ESICM annual meeting.

Dr. Adriana Luk

Dr Adriana Luk is a staff cardiologist in Toronto General Hospital. She completed her Internal medicine and Cardiology training at the University of Toronto. She subsequently completed an advanced heart failure fellowship at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, and a cardiac intensive care fellowship at the Toronto General Hospital. She is now working in the CICU and with the Advanced Heart Failure team at the Toronto General Hospital. Her main clinical interests are heart failure and transplant and Quality improvement.
